As fees for universities in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland increase, more students from the EU are heading to Scotland which has not raised its fees.  BBC News – Rise in EU students applying to Scottish universities.

At the same time that fees are increasing, the available number and range of course options is declining. One in four university courses axed in England but few cut in Scotland.

Conversely, more students from Scotland are going to university overseas in a bid to increase their changes of finding a job after graduation.
